Headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois in the United States,the corporation was founded by businessman Ray Kroc in May 15, 1940 in San Bernardino, California; McDonald's Corporation, April 15, 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois, after he purchased the rights to a small hamburger chain operated by the eponymous Richard and Maurice McDonald.
